catchup

This weekend gave us a little time to reflect on the winter.  We went down to Midland for a reunion of sorts with Krissy’s roomates from college.  We got all the families together, played in the pool and just got to hangout.  It was the craziest hotel experience though we have had…there was a wedding reception going on, kids all over the place so we weren’t sure if anyone was going to get any sleep.  It was fine in the end, but it was comical how much chaos was happening at one time.  We were mainly oblivious to it but it was still rather surreal.  It was good to see some people we don’t see enough, reminisce about old times and laugh.

Anyways the trip gave me some time to think about the winter, and all that had been going on.  I have been traveling a great deal for work during the week but we still have been able to get a lot done on the weekends. The kids have been doing skiing (started bad, ended good, now up to us to keep it going), a lot of swimming (goes from hot to cold to hot with them).  Plus we have made a bunch of trips across the state to visit family and friends.  We really haven’t had as much time as we would have liked to enjoy what Northern Michigan has to offer, but we still have a good month of snow yet I think.  We are going to Austin soon and we will catch up with friends down there, and we are going to Arizona next month so we will get some vacation time in here soon.  I think I am ready for it because we have just been all over the place, doing a million different things at once but it has been a good winter.  I do think I need a vacation from it though.  Off to go take care of some projects around here…that is another thing to reflect on…the 1,000 projects we did this year and the 5 left to do…who am I kidding they won’t end.
