austin and j.r.
Last week we ended up down in Austin, TX for a few days. I had to go down there for work since we had a Riverturn meeting down there. I went early and got a chance to finally meet in person some of the folks on our team. It’s interesting because some of these guys we hired and never actually met face to face. One guy has worked for us for two years, and this was the first time we got to hang out. They are all great people, and it was good to finally get a chance to focus on where we want to go as a company in person. We also got to spend some time at SXSW which is a big music, interactive and film festival. We caught a few bands on Friday, and it is something everyone should experience.
Krissy and the kids flew down on Friday (first time she has flown with them by herself and they did awesome), and we stayed with some friends for the weekend. It was good to see all our Austin friends and hang out a bit. The kids got to go to an Easter Egg Hunt and hunt for Dinosaur bones in a park. They have several places like that down there which is just a huge sandbox (which they have half covered because of the sun) and there are jogging trails, picnic areas and little water features. They probably would have stayed there all day if we let them which is surprising because they always seem to have a short attention span for that stuff. We had a cookout at Per and Kathy’s on Sunday (where we were staying) and just got all the kids together. They love playing with their Austin friends (a lot of them come up to visit us in the Summer so they get to see them a few times a year).
Just so we have equal time (something twin parents worry about) I wanted to give Jack his time since I blogged about Maggi last time. I think Jack is a lot like me as a kid, and this pleases my father to no end. He loves sports and video games and really picks things up quickly. He has a short attention span like me, and I think he pushes my buttons because we are so alike. He is very sweet and emotional and pours everything he has into what he is doing. It is awesome to see how much he cares for Maggi and always wants to do things with her. Sometimes I think we don’t push him hard enough though on new things because he just soaks it up. A few months back he started playing with Krissy’s Mac, and he loves Photobooth. He just took right to it, so I uploaded all these photos to viewbook and made him a site. You can check it out at http://jaggimack.viewbook.com/photobooth. It is pretty funny some of the stuff he came up with on his own (we literally gave him no training on it).
